What is Probate & Estate Administration?
Many of us hear the term Probate, and commonly associate this word with the entire process of Estate Administration, when in most circumstances, we apply for a Grant of Probate so we can go through Estate Administration.
Whichever way you decide to say it, it is the management of the deceased’s estate by an executor or personal representative, from dealing with properties, working out and paying inheritance tax, closing accounts, paying debts, accumulating assets, and distributing the estate to its beneficiaries are some of the duties carried out.

Did you know?
Whilst having a professional go through estate administration on your behalf is often a good thing, there are circumstances where a professional is appointed in a cheap/free Will as the executor. Some can be quite expensive (charging upwards of 5% of your estate), and they can be reluctant to step down, so be very careful, nothing in life is ever for free, this is no different.
